The government have confirmed today that grassroots rugby will have to stop for the lockdown period. All clubs (bar Premiership) have been moved back to Stage A of the rugby roadmap, essentially only allowing individual personal fitness. Whilst this is clearly hugely frustrating in view of our excellent team turnouts across all age groups (and the hard work and planning that has gone in for upcoming local games etc), it is clearly the right call in the current climate. All other team sports are equally affected. We will now be looking at virtual coaching activities and socials to keep players (and coaches!) engaged in the rugby we all love. I realise there will no doubt be many questions; please as usual forward them in through your admin and coaching staff and we will endeavour to answer them as best we can. Finally, I hope you and your families are all safe and well. Some people will find the next few weeks extremely challenging. As a club, I hope we can all keep an eye out and ensure we support each other. The committee and myself will keep you updated throughout. Tough times but we will weather them. I look forward to seeing you all back on the pitches in four weeks time. Up the Oaks.
Best wishes,
